Why is my ex suddenly trying to contact me ?

im a guy and i actually had this same situation happen (well in reverse obviously) a year ago. what i can tell you is that you have made the right decision by moving on with your life. the people who do things that are hurtful to you dont really love you. and if hes claiming hes changed, he hasnt. he might have changed HIS life a little, but if the two of you were to get back together it would more than likely happen again (whatever it is) and be the same or worse than it was. point is, i would allow him to say hes sorry or whatever, but as far as anything else ie saying he misses you or wanting to see you id say that ship has sailed..
